CPqD and Intel sign MOU to develop WiMAX technologies
CPqD and Intel signed a MOU to jointly develop WiMAX technologies, enabling wireless broadband applications with speeds of up to 75 Mbps. The first chip set will be available at the end of 2005, enabling equipment manufacturers to launch WiMAX devices with the new technologies as early as the first quarter of 2006.
As part of this partnership with Intel, CPqD will create a WiMAX Competence Center, aiming at developing new applications such as provisioning, device monitoring and management, and billing capabilities for WiMAX networks.
