CONIP 2008: CPqD blends urban services with digital inclusion
Solutions that assist the administrator and allow a better distribution of resources
At CONIP, (Conference on information science and innovation in the public administration) held on June 4th and 5th, in addition to the geoprocessing systems and assistance to urban services, CPqD has also presented its digital inclusion solutions. With its participation in the event, CPqD is intensifying its role as an important player in providing technological support to the Brazilian municipal districts by offering solutions that help in the decision making process.
One of the solutions demonstrated at the event is the SAPSA or In-Classroom Support to the Teacher. This system enables the organization to provide audiovisual contents and resources, including videos, to the school community in real time. These resources can be applied as a support material and it can also be used as a complement to the activities during the class. The Telecommunications Solutions for the Digital Inclusion, which incorporates PrevidênciaFácil (assistance to receive retirement benefits) and AcessaSaúde (assistance to schedule doctor?s appointments and get access to medical information), were also presented at CONIP. They are both adapted to the government programs for digital inclusion, providing services to the illiterate and people with visual and hearing impairments.
In aspect of the Digital TV, CPqD offered its consulting services to the Government regarding digital inclusion policies and the definition of strategies to create Digital Cities. The participation in this event was mainly to demonstrate to the public administrators the available tools that can provide assistance in management, as well as their contribution to transform the digital inclusion into reality.
GIS-based (Geographic Information System) solutions, focusing exclusively on providing support to public administration, were also presented. These solutions meet the demands of the organizations and secretariats, such as the water and wastewater treatment department. The applications are integrated around a core database, offering the manager several means to improve and distribute the resources. One example is the Education module of the CPqD Urban Services solution.
CONIP has reached its 14th edition. Several mayors, secretaries of mayor?s office, and all kinds of administrators involved in the public administration, as well as many entrepreneurs participated in the event. All companies participating in this conference, held on June 4th and 5th, showcased their products to the public. This year, CONIP was held at Centro Fecomercio de Eventos in Bela Vista, city of São Paulo.
