CPqD addresses issues related to Knowledge-based Economy during event on Innovation and Technology for People with Disabilities
CPqD participated in the International Meeting on Innovation and Technology for People with Disabilities on December 8-10. Knowledge-based Economy – Technology and Innovation was the topic covered by Claudinei Martins, one of CPqD’s experts in the subject. Mr. Martins emphasized that this concept is based more and more on the ability of creation and adaptation, on the usage of know-how and on human capital, which are decisive factors for a given region to grow. He also addressed the importance of the knowledge acquired by CPqD’s technical teams, who have been contributing to the evolution of accessibility and usability products.
During the event, CPqD’s portfolio of assistive technologies was promoted at the fair. At the event, CPqD exhibited the following products: Telephone for the Deaf, Webcasting with LIBRAS (Brazilian sign language), Screen Reader, Text-to-Speech and the STID (Telecommunications Solution for Digital Inclusion) Project Technology Platform.
The event was sponsored by the Sociedade Inclusiva Melhor Qualidade de Vida para Todos (Inclusive Society for a Better Quality of Life for All), with the support from the Secretary for the Rights of People with Disabilities from the Government of the State of São Paulo. The main goal was to promote a comprehensive discussion on the importance of assistive technologies and technical assistance in the process of rehabilitation and the day-to-day life of people with disabilities. In addition to the fair and the conference, business events were also held to boost the assistive technology market.
