CPQD Portas Abertas: opportunity for students to have contact with innovation

Students from all over Brazil had the opportunity to learn more about CPQD, its skills and technologies, during the three days of the CPQD Portas Abertas event, which took place between October 18th and 20th, in an online format. The event is held annually by CPQD, as a contribution of the organization to the activities promoted, at the federal level, during the National Month of Science, Technology and Innovations, of the MCTI.

“This is also a way of attracting and attracting talent to our organization, which is added to other initiatives, such as participation in internship fairs, for example”, emphasizes Beatriz Ribeiro Mota, from the People Management area. “With the online format, CPQD Portas Abertas becomes borderless, as it opens up the opportunity for students from all over the country to learn about the technologies developed here”, she adds.

Marcos Alberto da Costa, also from the People Management area, points out that the six lives scheduled for this year addressed temthe very current ones, which were presented by CPQD specialists. On the first day of the event, Luiz Pita spoke about Artificial Intelligence and Robotics and the specialist in electromagnetic compatibility Reginaldo Matias addressed the temTechnology in Product Certification. Born in Manaus (AM) – where he attended the lectures -, Gustavo is doing scientific initiation in the Internet of Things and was especially interested in the temthose linked to this area, such as Smart Cities and Sis Projectstemthe Embarked. “The other presentations were also interesting, because somehow the subjects end up being related to IoT. The lecture on testing, for example, showed the importance of hardware reliability to ensure that the systemtemthe IoT will work”, he explains.

For Julia Maria Pereira Moreira, a 5th year student of the Control and Automation Engineering course at the Federal University of Lavras (MG), the CPQD Portas Abertas lives were important and very useful, mainly because she is defining the professional path that will follow. “The lectures brought a different vision, with applications and solutions developed at CPQD for the industry in several areas. It was an opportunity to learn about practical and real applications, for example, in the area of systemstemthe embedded ones, which I worked on throughout graduation”, emphasizes Julia.

She attended five lives and, like Gustavo, was drawn to receive CPQD gifts after the event – the draw was carried out among students who proved to have attended at least three lectures, by reading QR codes. After getting to know CPQD and its competencies, Julia put the organization on the radar of her professional future. “Since I'm at the end of the course, I've been researching the job market and I think CPQD offers good opportunities in my field”, he concludes.
