Students from winning hackathon teams from Instituto Visão Amazônica visit CPQD

CPQD received, on December 14, the visit of the winning teams of two hackathons on Smart Cities promoted by the Instituto Visão Amazônica, from Manaus (AM). The prize for the winners was a visit to a renowned science and technology institution (ICT) with relevant activities in the field of smart cities. And the CPQD was chosen by the competition organizers!

The students, accompanied by representatives from Instituto Visão Amazônica, were received by Maurício Casotti, manager of Business Development in Smart Cities and Health 4.0, and other CPQD executives and researchers. During the visit, everyone had the opportunity to learn about the organization and some of the projects and cases developed in the area of ​​smart cities. Furthermore, they attended a practical presentation of the open platform dojot, developed by CPQD with the aim of accelerating the creation of IoT applications aimed at the Brazilian reality, and also visited the new Connectivity Laboratory Complex.

“The dojot platform brings a new development proposal, which can add a lot of value to the solution project of one of the winning teams of the hackathon”, says Francisco Almeida, technical coordinator of the Instituto Visão Amazônica, who participated in the visit. “For the other winning team, it represented an opportunity to learn about a technology option that they can also use in the evolution of the smart city solution they developed in the competition”, he adds.

Almeida also points out that it was very enlightening for everyone to get to know the CPQD, its projects and technologies, as well as the new Connectivity Laboratory Complex – and the importance of the tests carried out in their environments.

Participating in the visit were students Sheila Rodrigues Leite, Helton Matias de Negreiros, Rebeca Justino de Moraes, Brenda Rocha de Souza, Aline Damasceno de Sales, Lorena Silva e Silva and Nicolas Alexander Castro Seixas, as well as Francisco Almeida and Maurília de Souza Gomes, from Amazon Vision Institute.
