Match Connect Saúde: startups can now sign up for this CPQD, Bosch and Faculdade São Leopoldo Mandic initiative

Startups and entrepreneurs willing to develop innovative solutions to real problems in the health area can now register for Match Connect Saúde, a joint initiative by CPQD, Bosch and Faculdade São Leopoldo Mandic that has the support of the accelerator Baita. Proposal registration can be made from Wednesday, October 13th, and will be open until November 16th – the disclosure of the startups selected for the first phase of the program is scheduled for November 19th.

“The objective is to promote digital transformation in the healthcare area, through open innovation and encouragement to startups with different levels of maturity, which will have advanced technological resources at their disposal to solve problems focusing on the needs of this market”, says Maurício Casotti, manager of Business Development in Smart Cities and Health 4.0 at CPQD.

The technological resources will be provided by CPQD and Bosch, who will also provide mentoring, support and training for the use of their technologies. CPQD will provide an open platform for AIoT (Artificial Intelligence of Things), a combination of two platforms developed by the organization: dojot, middleware for Internet das Coisas (IoT), and PlatIA, for Artificial Intelligence. Bosch will supply devices and sensors such as sistemtracking through wireless tags, connectivity cards and high-definition cameras.

“Bosch constantly seekstemto support innovative initiatives to solve real needs in the market. Our solutions aim to increase the productivity, transparency and assertiveness of the solution and, as we are a global developer and provider of technologies based on sensors, software and services, we seek to act and impact different niches of society”, says Marco Knabben, Community Manager Connectory and Development Bosch Business Center.

Faculdade São Leopoldo Mandic, in turn, will be responsible for specific technical mentoring related to hospital management and practices. In addition, it will provide a real test environment for validating the solutions developed by startups.

“We have innovation in our DNA and we believe in solutions that aim to solve emerging pains in the health area, based on scientific validations. For this, Hub Mandic, a cell that was born to connect and develop healthtechs, will be present in this exciting program to help entrepreneurs with purpose, willing to give themselves in a project that will generate impact and make a difference in Brazilian health”, adds Gabriela Victorelli, professor at Faculdade São Leopoldo Mandic and leader of research and entrepreneurship at Hub Mandic.

Match Connect Health will be divided into stages. For the first, up to 15 startups will be selected – among those registered in the call – that will undergo an immersion in the hospital areas of interest and in the technologies offered in the program, followed by the development of a proof of concept that demonstrates the feasibility of the proposed solution. Based on the presentations of proposals (in the pitch model) by the teams, four to five startups will be selected for the pre-acceleration phase, which consists of developing, testing and validating a minimum viable product (MVP) in a real external environment, such as hospitals, hubs and partner clinics of Faculdade São Leopoldo Mandic.

This second phase should last until the beginning of March 2022, when the startups will present their pitches to the commission formed by representatives of the partner companies in the program and the Baita accelerator. The disclosure of the winning startup, which will be included in the Hub Mandic acceleration program, is scheduled for March 15th.
