A padtec was created from the union of the capital of two renowned Brazilian organizations – CPQD and Ideiasnet. It is a company dedicated to the development, manufacture and commercialization of systemstemoptical communications. The company provides solutions for long-distance networks, metropolitan networks and access networks, in addition to being the first system manufacturer in Latin America.temtransmissions based on WDM technology – capable of increasing the transmission capacity of optical fibers by tens of times.

With just a few years of existence, Padtec has already gathered a series of achievements that differentiate it in the market, the result of products focused on the customer's core business, with highly competitive prices, extensive local technical support, agility in service and a short delivery time.

In less than 1 year, it incorporated equipment for transporting signals following OTN (Optical Transport Network) recommendations to its product line, equipment for extracting and inserting reconfigurable channels (ROADM), multiprotocol traffic aggregator equipment and a solution for optical amplification for ultra-long distance. It has established itself as a global supplier of customized high-tech solutions, with businesses and representatives in South America, Central America, Europe and Asia.

CPQD and the Promon Organization, united by a joint venture, created Trópico SA – a company dedicated to the development, manufacture and distribution of modern telecomunications. Later other organizations came to be part of this society.

Today, Trópico SA is recognized for its leadership in the migration from traditional circuit transmission technology (TDM) to the new generation of packet-switched networks (NGN).

Since its inception, in 1999, Trópico SA has achieved notable advances: its technology has already reached the incredible mark of eight million terminals, approximately; already owns around 20% of the digital plant installed in Brazil; expanded its presence in the markets of Latin America and the United States.
